Tooth Extractions Perth

Our dentist at Absolute Smiles, Bassendean are trained and experience in Tooth or Teeth Extraction procedures in Perth.

Tooth Extractions PerthUsually the dentist would always recommend to save the tooth but there are reasons why extractions would be an option such as:

  • Very advanced stages of infection
  • A tooth fracture
  • Very bad decay
  • Trauma around the area
  • Wisdom Teeth

Types of Tooth or Teeth Extraction

There are 2 types of extractions carried out at our clinic:

  • Simple Extraction
  • Surgical Extraction

Simple Extraction
A simple extraction is a procedure that involves less trauma to the area of removing the tooth. The instrument used for the procedure are Forceps to help remove the tooth. There will also be local anaesthetic administered to make the procedure more comfortable. Please advise our dentist if you have any issues with the pain relief that is being used during the procedure.

In most cases, a simple extractions does not have much complications but not everybody has the same teeth so the dentist will advise you about the procedure before the extraction is being carried out.

Surgical Extraction
A surgical extraction is more invasive procedure. At times the gum will have to be raised or exposed to remove the tooth. There also may be some bone that may be removed around the area to allow the tooth to be removed more efficiently.

Sedation or Sleep Dentistry Options
We also offer sleep or sedation options at our clinic to make the procedure more comfortable. This may involve an anaesthetist who will provide twilight sedation or at times we can refer you to a hospital for general anaesthetic.
